After looking at what seemed like every house in Saint Paul, I finally decided on the house I wanted. The asking price was 310k, I offered 290, they countered 300, and I accepted. Today I went through the house for 3 hours with an inspector, there were no problems, so the deal became official.
The house is 1900 square feet, but with only 3 bedrooms and 1 bath. It's in great condition and in a very nice area of Saint Paul, about a mile from mine and Josey's current residence. I take possession on the 28th of April.
Living with me will be fellow clan mates Josey and Pablito, and Pablito's cat (at least until I get a dog and secretly train it to eat Pablito's cat). I hope many KofC members will be stopping by for short or extended visits. Preliminary plans for a house-warming party are now taking place, likely on a weekend in early/middle May. Hopefully many of you can make it. I'm taking suggestions for the exact dates, along with what kind of booze/kegs should be purchased. I've already got Beer Fest on Blu-Ray, but its unopened, and will remain so until the party.
Freshly busto from my house purchase, it's time to get back to the poker grind. I'm in debt for the first time in my life, but thankfully the poker gods smiled upon me today, as I made a solid 4k, covering my first two months of mortgage payments!

Congrats. Looks pretty solid. How long before you have it payed off? 10 years?
Did it come with any furniture or any other perks? I suppose you'll be buying a bunch of new stuff for it.
I will be at a wedding the weekend of May 3rd, but after that should be fine. It looks like a wonderful domicile. Pete if you need my truck for moving purposes just let me know. It's been worked on by mechanics for the last 3 weeks so it runs superbly (I'll be posting about my truck as soon as I find time to sit down and post...it's almost as grueling as Daymonster's internet situation).
Nice pick Pete, it looks pretty sweet. I'm sure it will do you well.
it would be a decent fight between my cat and any dog you get. you should see my arms, completely covered in scratches
Will Josey train the dog in gun use? If so, that cat is TOAST!
Looks like a nice house. Where is the theater room going to be??? How about a wet bar? Pool? Game room? I smell fresh construction projects in the near future.
i drove by it yesterday after work and the neighborhood is pretty nice. the pics on the edina realty site also look really good. i'm excited to see the basement with the comfy couch, giant tv, and surround sound. adding a bathroom down there will be very helpful as well
The poll is good, I voted for diswasher, washing dishes by hand blows.
However I think standard mail will be the most valuable thing, or maybe getting out of the grasp of Judy Day.
That's a very nice house man. Congratulations on it. Now if i could only get rid of my current house i'd be happy too. All i can say is hold on to the house til the market comes out of the gutter and you can actually sell it one day.
Other than that gratz again.
Josey, hot maid chick washes your dishes too... and she is hot.
The maid is a maid and can be made to do whatever you need. The maid will pay for itself, the guns I don't know about. I don't see much home use, except for cat hunting.
ya but the dishwasher is real, that's why i voted it
it might be hard to find a hot maid
You might have to import.
ya we could order one of those russian brides. what competition could we do to determine who has to marry her?
import pablena?
pablena will be visiting again for like all of september. when she was just here, she did a lot of cleaning and all my laundry. it was pretty great
