Calling all KofC members!

I need to find an article or a video clip of something that is one-sided on the issue of education. It could be overly optimistic citing skewed statistics or a shocking story about how dangerous today's schools are. Anything that doesn't give the whole picture of the issue, it needs to be from the last few months.

I need to write a letter to the editor or writer about how they are being ridiculous. Please post any links you find in the comments sections.

Thanks,
The Daymonster

This just pisses me off. Attributing stress to why kids are such jackasses now days. I want to know that if a kid is getting out of line there is going to be extreme corporal punishment dished out to make sure they settle the heck down. Don't let them use this, "I'm stressed" excuse. That's some bullshit. If they're stressed in grade schools they are never going to make it through life.

Also, this article gets me. The guy is opposing state exams for his school because he thinks they are both unfair and harmful. That's bullshit. It's impossible to make a completely fair exam for everyone. Also, everyone else has to take the exam. Stop being a prick and adminster the stupid test.

i had never heard of this before i came to the US, and i still think it´s extremely weird: creationism.

an article on how to teach it to your young children right here:

ps: i kinda like your blog, guys :) is that okay?

You never heard of "creationism"/"intelligent design" until you cam to the US?

well, actually, i don´t even know what "intelligent design" is... i´ll read up on it :) hm, i think i did maybe hear about creationism, but i don´t think that i took it seriously - it sounds like a story somebody would tell about americans. until i met people in the US who did believe that!

"Creationism" and "intelligent design," see, Genesis.

Or not and save yourself some time, depends how much you like stories.

I went to the new Indiana Jones last night. It was a pretty good hour and a half with a bad last half hour. It fell victim to the killer/desecrater/ruiner of any movie, but I can't say more without ruining it for everyone else. Did anyone else go/have any thoughts?

**spoiler alert**

i disliked when he survived the atomic bomb by hiding in the fridge, the many cgi gophers, when shia uses a snake to pull him out of the quicksand, when shia is fencing while standing between the cars and getting racked in the balls continuously, when he's swinging through the jungle with the monkeys, then when they reach the city and reveal the aliens.

other than that, the movie was above average. the action was pretty exciting, obviously over-the-top in some places, but overall the story wasn't as good as when he was fighting nazis and searching for bible artifacts.

Pablito I agree with most everything. Shia in general was just a bad fit for me. I was happy with the pace of the movie, not happy with the lack of "figuring stuff out". The action was good, but the amount of CGI was annoying. I thought the atomic bomb scene was pretty cool, yet kinda eery. It's 4 and work just ended I'll have more to say later.

STOP TALKING ABOUT THE FUCKING MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was an ok movie. I would give it like a 7.5 or so. I really wish they would have done the direction and stuff more like they did the older ones. It seems like George Lucas really attempts to use too many now day effects. He really had something back when he was using dual 32mm Triframe cameras and doing all of the animations and effects on his own.

The movie wasn't bad though. A lot of the people that were there, and even i some i was with, were like the alien thing was a little over the top. My argument was that to an aetheist the Raiders of the Lost Ark would seem really over the top too.

I'm going to be on CoD4 tonight playing some with MyBigDumbFace and Dajuicee, so if anyone else would like to play please get on this evening.

Also, i'm still waiting for those second round of questions on the get to know 'em. Feel free to ask whatever you want. I'll answer anything that won't either incriminate me or make me sleep on the couch for a week.
