URGENT!

I dont know how to put this...so im just gonna give it to you guys flat out. Another boot has fallen victim to its own weak structural integrity. Here's the story: So there was a case race going on in my cluster (I chose not to take part in it because they were a bunch of nubs who weren't actually racing) and they wanted to watch beerfest. I am of course delighted anytime i hear that name and told them that they could watch the film on one condition; someone has to drink a boot. My friend Chaz eagerly stepped up to the plate with only the best intentions. He proceeded to drink the boot in an admirable time. Obviously excited after finishing the last few drops we set down the boot on a table like one sets down a plastic cup after slamming a beer. The heel shattered (luckily not a drop was spilt) and he came to my room where i was ironically blogging on Josey's Think, Think, Think post. I told him to calm down, and that i wasn't mad. As we all know too well, the death of a boot more like the death of a person than it is like the death of a drinking container. We were both sad, (I was gonna drink the next boot and a little pissed that i couldnt drink one) but we managed to keep our eyes dry (I'm pretty sure there were some foggy eyes last time Gustaf broke the boot).

Anyway, Chaz offered to pay for a new boot on the spot. The reason this post is marked urgent is because i want to get this thing ordered as soon as possible so we can have a boot to drink when some of the knights are here for trout fry. I will protect the boot using my boot i wore after breaking my leg on the scooter when the das boot is being transported and not being used. Josey and SB: where did you get your boots? Let me know and i'll have the thing in the mail pronto.

I hope this post didnt cause too much grief, and i recommend speeding the healing process by thinking of all the boots to be had at trout fry.

"I've had many things shoved up my ass Mr. Badrinath. I got over it, and you vill too".

-words of wisdom from Great Gam Gam I thought were relevant to the situation.

Yeah I think that's the site the boots were ordered from in the first place. I really liked the eagle symbol thingy on the front of the old boots, but I'm down for the USA symbol.

Good work Daymonster, also Dammer is correct. That is the site where we have acquired all our boots, the country boots are new, but I am sure they are the same shape. Personally my heart is still with the old German one with the eagle on it (like we have always had). I love that style, the satisfaction you get when you see the beer line drop below the eagle is wonderful!

On another note, breaking boots. I love glass boots and never want to have to drink out of a plastic one, but I think there is a real market out there for them, we should be the supply. Thoughts?

So long as they're dishwasher safe and made of the same material as nalgenes. Unbreakable.

They make those wine glasses and beer mugs out of lexane or whatever it is, looks like glass is fairly heavy and never breaks.

might be a good idea.

Lol, thank you for signing your name, it was very unclear as to who wrote it.

I think it is a good idea, with the lexane.

Picture this...

You finish a boot, setting a new personal best. You are very exited and proud, all of your firends are watching on and are equally exicted and proud of you. At the moment you finish you turn the boot upside down to show you are done and then spike it to the groud out of exictment that you have set a new record while letting out a ferocious roar.

I think that would be awesome, and this lexane stuff would allow it.

I think spiking would be disrespectful to the boot.

Josey WaIes said...

Good point Loco, I thought about that, but I am not sure I will respect the plastic boots as much.

hahah, dammit. I have been writing too many work emails today.

How fun would it be if you had unlimited glass boots and you could throw them at the wall after every one you drank? (As long as you had a maid obv)

I'll pick one out from the website mentioned above and hope that it comes in less than 2 months.

i hope it comes in time for trout fry.

also regarding the market for plastic boots: i'm not so sure there is a big one. it seems like most people willing to buy a boot would want the real thing, just like we do.

I stumbled across this post tonight and thought I would let you know that my site, www.bierboothaus.com, stocks both a 1 liter and 2 liter beer boot with a traditional Bavarian crest. We also just got a Germany brewery boot in stock and it is my new personal favorite (http://www.bierboothaus.com/products/Details.cfm?ProdID=68&category=5). I personally run the site and handle most orders so can guarantee your order would arrive within 1-5 days depending on your location. And to sweeten the deal, place an order by 03/09/08 and mention "Knights of Columbus" in the order notes and I will refund half of the shipping charges... Thanks

Brendan

Brendan what kinda deal can you give us for a few custom ones with logos. We buy boots often and we would like a personal supplier.

ZOMG a personal boot supplier is sweet.

Would you guys want blank boots with an engraved logo / text or one of the decorated boots with an engraved logo/text?

Here is a link to the standard engraving options we offer (it is our engraver's website). http://creative-etchings.com/newmonograms.html
We can virtually engrave any design you may have.

Let me know and what you want and roughly how many you might want and I can put a custom quote together.

Also, FYI, we are currently manufacturing a machine pressed 2 liter boot that should arrive stateside in about a month and a half. Unlike the mouth blown boots, this one will be able to take more of a beating without shattering.
We also now have plastic 1 liter beer boots..sorry josey waies, I beat you to it...and should soon have an acrylic 2 liter boot.

Let me know how I can help... info@bierboothaus.com toll free at 877-55B-BOOT (2-2668)

a custom boot supplier is definitely not gonna help my constant battle against the booze.

Jeff said...

I prefer to think of it as a battle alongside the booze. Like in my dream last night when in an actual COD4 battle....ok so they're not that similar, but the dream was sweet.

I only use the .50 cal now

Josey WaIes said...

Is the 50. a one shot kill anywhere on the body?

locopuyo said...

I use the do extra damage perk and it seems to kill everyone in one shot except for limb shots on the juggernauts. Shooting people through walls usually doesn't kill with it, but I use the longer breath perk instead of deeper penetration.

locopuyo said...

After playingmore with it I think limb shots don't kill, even with extra damage against a non juggernaut. And I think only a head or upper chest will kill juggernauts.
