Merry Christmas, Knights

It's been a strange Christmas this year, but it's been fun. I won't be able to make it to the club house tomorrow, and I don't think anyone else will really. I could stop by around 11pm but I assume nothing will be going on.

Does anyone want to do something Sunday or Monday. Like skiing or indoor waterpark?

Naming of two maps for COD MW2

Feel free to add some or change some names in the comments.

I also made this video of some (kind of) secret routes and places to go in highrise. I am sure you know many of these places but I figure some of you might not know about them.

Ski Adventure 2010!

Dear Knights,

I have booked lodging for the Ski Adventure 2010! I booked a great base camp for all of our skiing and partying activities from January 6 - 9. You can take a virtual tour of our base came at this website. The virtual tour is very good, I suggest you take it. As you will notice from the tour, our base camp has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a beer pong table!

Furthermore, I informed you before we can get a deal on ski passes, three days for the price of two. To take advantage of this please go to this website and purchase your tickets.

I am very excited for this trip, it is going to be a blast!

Sincerely,

Josey Wales

KofC Christmas Party, Ski Trip, and Other Notes

I am starting to hate COD MW2. I have been trying to change classes to much and not sticking to the class that I usually do well (the M16 with SP) it's really hard to go back to that once you feel the rush of sprinting laps around the map. I need to delete all other classes and just stick with the M16. Here is a picture of me watching Adeclipse owning up on some nublets with a helicopter.

KofC Christmas Party
The Saturday after Christmas or Texas Christmas as it is known, the Knights will be hosting a get together at the clubhouse. More details will follow, but hopefully we can get it on some of your radars (or UAVs)

KofC Thanksgiving Party
What is everyone doing Wednesday (the day before thanksgiving) anyone want to do something?

Ski Trip 2K10
Josey will have some information concerning the ski trip that he is currently purchasing right now.

Other Notes
- Josey's bro just bought a Live subscription (The River Wolf) and so he will probably be applying for clan membership shortly.

- SB has been sleeping for over 12 hours.

- Pablito is in Austria. His cat is currently alive. Though I have not seen him today.

- Looks like Warthog's roommate got MW2, and will be one tonight. Josey will be on tonight and I think I heard Dammer will be on. Not sure what time I will be on (if at all) but if not have fun playing. UPDATE: Warthog is heading home tonight, not playing COD.

- Joe Mauer wins the MVP.

A Nice Little Saturday Planned...

So I was thinking about the team aspect of COD MW2 and I think we need to figure out a good way that we can beat all of our win streaks. (I think its about 17 win streaks for most of us) I think we need to have some roles. Obviously, Adeclipse will snipe, puyo will have a snipers mentality with the M16 or whatnot and we will have 2 mid-range (kind of like what Josey and I do) and then maybe 1 or 2 knife classers. I have been working on this class and its been pretty fun and does a great job of causing havoc. Anyway, I was thinking about that. Discuss it in the comments.

Anyway, Eternal, SB and I all played some BYF today with some other people. Now we are watching Beerfest drinking boots and UFC is on soon. This Saturday has been awesome. Word on teh street is Josey is making an appearance and so is McHolla/FuggFrist.

Knights of Cydonia Ski Adventure 2010!

Hello Knights,

Kel and I would like to plan Knights of Cydonia ski trip this winter. We have done preliminary research and discovered that we can get a deal at Lutsen in January, we can ski three days for the price of two: $116 plus tax. In addition, Kel has found us lodging, we can rent a home/condo between $440 - $525 total for three nights. The price will vary depending on how big a place we think we need and also how many people want to come (the more that come the cheaper it will be per person). Because we will have a home/condo to say in, we will have a place to make food and play drinking games when we get off the hill. Kel went on a trip like this last year and said it was really fun and cheap.

We were planning on going for three days between January 5th – 10th. We can go for three days during the week, or over the weekend, depending on what works best for everyone. Please e-mail me or post letting me know you are in, we would like to know by Thanksgiving so we can book a place for us to stay. Kel checked, and the place she stayed in last year is currently available so it would be great if we could just book that because we know it’s nice and cheap.

Sincerely,

Josey Wales

COD4MW2: TIPS

So, most of us have been playing the new Call of Duty Four: Modern Warfare Two, and while we normally roll over the opposing teams we play it might be a good idea to share some of our knowledge to bring up all clan members. I usually have the most deaths of any of you so don't take my advice, but I was wondering what tips the rest of you could share.

First off, I found a few interesting tips from infiniteward themselves.
-- Sticking a Semtex grenade to a character holding a riot shield is a good way to take them out from the front without having to flank them.
-- Using a flash or stun grenade against players using a riot shields is very effective causing them lower their shields for a moment and opening them up for an attack.
-- Aim for the chest or neck region on burst fire assault rifles. For full auto assault rifles, do the same but fire in groups of three to five rounds. Doing this will make the muzzle climb for recoil and give you a second or third round headshot.
-- Thermal scopes work great with smoke grenades - enemies show up right through the smoke (unless they have the cold blooded perk!)
-- Shoot down a Pavelow helicopter faster by not locking on with the AT-4 (anti-tank weapon); shooting from the hip prevents the Pavelow from using countermeasures.

Obviously, we know most of those but sometimes it is good to see them again to help remember them.

Here are some things I have been thinking of:
-- Who ever has a predator strike, or AC130 should let the rest of the team know where the majority of the enemies are located. I know it's kind of hard to explain it sometimes but as we play the maps more we will get used to it.
-- We should coordinate our kill streaks if possible. I think we need to have at least 2 or 3 people using the UAV perk, and then I don't know if they rest matter, but maybe you guys have thoughts.
-- Are the sentex (or whatever they are called) better than the regular frags? I seem to be killed by those more than any other type of grenade.

Classes
Also, if you want you should comment on what class you use. Right now, I use the FAMAS with a holographic scope, the increase melee distance, with stopping power, and cold blooded. I use the flash grenade and the frag. I also use UAV, Predator missile, and Hind.

I sometimes use the M4 with everything the same except for I use Bling with a silencer and then get rid of the increased melee distance.

locopuyo: make a post yelling at people to get cod

(email from Josey Wales @ 10:52am 11/09/09)
Are there any plans to get everyone online to play CODMW2 this weekend or week?

I will get it at Target tomorrow morning, Target doesn't have a midnight release and since I cashed in all my credit card points for Target gift cards, I figure I should use those for things like that. I am pretty free this whole week and can play whenever. I am thinking maybe I bring over the xbox and we play some at the club house all in the same location. I dunno, leave your thoughts in the comments.

DammerWillTowelU and then DammerWillBuyANewOne

So I took a half day today and decided to watch a movie and nap. I had gotten in the first 5 minutes of Porky's when Daymonster sent me a message online. I was confused because it said "u suck", and I figured Puyo must have taken part in a little identity theft. Needless to say, I was a little excited that maybe I could get some online vid play in. Unfortunately, my 360 decided to RROD on me. Considering it would cost me $99 to fix the damn thing through the Microsoft return service (my 3 year replacement warranty ran out a month ago believe it or not) I decided to try the towel trick...to no avail. It probably would have only lasted a week anyway. So, I'll probably have to buy a new one now. The real question is whether I go after an Elite or an Arcade. I don't think I need an Elite, and would probably get along quite well with an Arcade. All I really need is my hard drive methinks. Thoughts?

UFC 117

The Daymonster deliberately dominated BJ Penn in the last match but he'll be up against it when battling number one contender Toby 'Pablito' Neal this Saturday.

The match between Daymonster and the Prodigy went the full 5 rounds before the challenger edged a decision with a unanimous vote to take the belt. BJ will not be pleased because his submission attempts were useless against a non-tapper like the Daymonster. Against a normal opponent he would have won via a devastating armbar in the second round. Unfortunately for BJ, Daymonster refused to give in and was able to escape every submission attempt to put the champ on his back and reverse the advantage. Daymonster had a brutal ground and pound which resulted in the Prodigy being treated after the fight by the fight doctor for a broken nose. BJ barely pulled himself together to approach the ref in order to have Daymonster declared the unanimous winner.

Pablito, on the other hand, has had a quiet rise to the number one contender position. He is only 5-1 after his first 6 UFC fights holding wins over his training partner Sean Sherk and the newly promoted from WEC champ Ben Henderson. The unlikely challenger is able to fight for the belt due to the unexpected losses by Eddie Alvarez and Joachim Hansen to Gilbert Melendez and Tatsuya Kawajiri respectively. These unexpected results allowed Pablito to jump up in the rankings to now have the ability to challenge for the Lightweight belt.

Tune in this Saturday to see who comes out on top. UFC 117!!

Mr. and Mrs. WillEatU

I've been married now for 19 days! It was a long and stressful process, and I'm so happy it's over and done with. That Friday I was anxious and nervous all day long, and I thought the actual ceremony would never come. However, I will tell you right now that the best moment of my life so far was watching DanaWillEatU walk down the aisle. She looked totally amazing, unbelieavably attractive, completely arousing, and wondrously beautiful. Seriously....breathtaking.

Has anything changed? Oddly enough......no. We've gained some material possessions and dropped our insurance rates. I have a new piece of hardware on my finger that'll make it easier to give Unky Warthog black eyes. DanaWillEatU has changed her name. Between DanaWillEatU and I though there really hasn't been a difference which I think is a good thing. I will say that the stress level has decreased and we're breathing a lot easier thanks to the wedding being done and payed for. It's so nice to just come home with nothing to take care of and no one to call.

What about the honeymoon you ask? Well DanaWillEatU and I went to Des Moines for 5 days. Yes Des Moines. I realize it doesn't seem all that exciting, but we were able to keep our total expenses fairly cheap, and we really did have a blast. The best part is that we agreed a while back that if we went somewhere cheap right now, we'd have a hell of a trip in a couple years. So I have something to look forward to. In Des Moines we ate good food, played arcade games, saw a show, relaxed in our whirlpool, etc etc. Basically we just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company. I also learned about a new beer, Baltika. I had the #3 and the #5. Both are really smooth and delicious, and I highly recommend giving this beer a whirl if you can find it anywhere. It's probably the only Russian beer you'll be able to find.

In current news, we went to the movie "Couples Retreat" after work yesterday and enjoyed it quite a bit. It was a good date movie for DanaWillEatU and I since it had some stupid humor but also some chick humor, unlike "The Informant" which neither of us really enjoyed at all. Also I just bought some new tires for the truck and am pretty pumped about not having to fear dying in a horrible crash anymore.

So.....when's the Beerfest?

Sunday update and questions

So it looks like the blog could be back, so I feel I should just say what's up.

Josey's informal engagement party was a success, last night. We watched a very exciting USA vs Honduras game where the US qualified for the World Cup.

Today, SB, Unky Rod, Pablito and will be on our way shortly to the Twins playoff game. One of us will take a few pics to share with the group.

Also, we still need to go to the Water Park of America soon. That's about it, it's Sunday, the Vikes are 5-0 and the Twins are in the playoffs.

Also, here is a video of little kids in some strange half wrestling, half MMA fighting:

Here are some questions for the members...

Dammer, where is the post-marriage post?

Puyo, update on your video games?

Unky Warthog, does law school still suck? You a douchebag yet?

Josey, what were you thinking? (joking)

Kelly Wales, what were you thinking? (serious)

Pablito, when will you get me an application?

SB, I don't really have a question for you since you are sitting right here?

Adeclipse, you alive?

Unky Eternal, are you kind of mad you don't have that lovely wedding gift?

Unky Playboy, who are you again?

Tilla, uhh, how's it going?

Josey Is Engaged

Yes, that’s right, Josey Wales is now engaged. I got engaged this afternoon to my girlfriend. I am pretty sure you have all met her, except Adeclipse, and I am under the impression that she has Clan approval. There is not much else I can say, I just thought the Clan should know.

On another note, I was recently informed there have been talks about a Beerfest reunion, and not the one mentioned below. It is my understanding that it will be a get wasted Beerfest reunion. I really hope this event takes place, I am already looking forward to it.

Yours truly,

Josey Wales

Broken Lizard

Now you may list different movies in your own top 5 or in your favorite movies on Facebook, but none of us (except maybe Adeclipse) can deny that the most influential film we've seen is Beerfest. It shaped our formative college years and introduced us to the wonderful lifestyle of beer games. Tomorrow night could be our one and only chance to see Beerfest's creators live and in person. I did the ticketmaster 'search for tickets' for best available and there are still tix in the lower level so there's not exactly a rush to buy them, except that the show is tomorrow (Saturday 10/10) night.

I'm honestly not sure what the presentation will be, whether it's stand-up comedy or sketches. I'm sure we could find out, but I'd prefer to be surprised.

Dammer: please consider a visit up here for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Maybe it could be your belated bachelor's party since I don't recall being invited to one before your wedding...

Puyo: I don't think you got as much enjoyment from this landmark movie as the rest of us back in school but I'd recommend re-watching it tonight or tomorrow during the day to guage your response.

Daymonster, SB, Unky's, and most importantly Josey: no excuses, we're going.

Knights Attend Most Exciting Baseball Game Ever

Many of you may have seen this game on TV but several of the knights were in attendance to see this memorable match. Unky Eternal, MCHolla, and I were up in the cheap seats while Squatting Bear and Daymonster overcame all odds to get screwed over by a scalper and sit in the lower level. First, we in the cheap seats bought our tickets legitimately by driving to the Metrodome and purchasing the only tickets available, far away in the upper deck in straight away center. SB and Daymonster originally had commitments to coach high school soccer but the games were rained out. Then the power went out at the KofC clubhouse preventing the guys from even watching the game on TV. Luckily they decided to head to the stadium and pay double face value to see the game in person.

Anyways, for a description the game, just read the article. After an almost 5 hour game, one player who didn't start the game, Carlos Gomez, scored off a weak hit through first and second by another non-starter, Alexi Casilla. Below is a picture taken by Daymonster.

Braid

I just finished Braid, and I was quite pleased. There were some irksome moments trying to figger shit out, but otherwise the music and artwork really drew me in and transported my mind elsewhere which is always one of the best qualities of a game for me. When I finished, I discovered I didn't really get what the plotline was, and maybe because I was too intently thinking of finishing the level to really understand it all. So, fortunately, somebody wrote it all out in black and white. It always amazes me that people have the time and energy to write this stuff up, and figure it out themselves. Plus, I don't do well with circular stories or working backwards, my memory isn't that good. At least I can follow Memento...

KofC Weekend

In the last post we discussed a Knights of Columbus/Cydonia weekend. We have much to celebrate, Dammer's house, my freedom, Josey's final year in law school, Unky's first year in law school, SB contemplating law school, puyo's new video game and Adeclipse living in Texas. Apologies to not knowing what the other Unky's are up to or Puyo's friend, but I am sure they have something to celebrate.

Anywho, here is the deal. This weekend is going to be fun. F-U-N, fun. This is a tentative schedule of events so nothing is set in stone. Especially since SB and I might have to be coaching in the morning of some of these events. Also, the Twins are in KC that weekend so that looks out of the question. Here is the schedule of events.

Saturday Aug 22:
12:00pm Paintball
6:00pm Drink possibly in conjunction with bowling or vids.

Sunday Aug 23:
12:00pm Golf

Alternative activities if some plans fall through:
Tubing down rivers

Please feel free to add/delete activities in the comments section.

BREAKING NEWS: Dammer dies of happiness

Six years after getting axed by Fox, Futurama is being resurrected on Comedy Central.

A spokesperson for 20th Century Fox Television confirms that the cable net has ordered 26 newepisodes of Matt Groening and David X. Cohen's late, great animated series to air beginning in 2010. The studio cites Futurama's "blockbuster" performance on DVD and in reruns on Comedy Central as the reason for its rebirth.

Hmmm... sound familiar?

"When we brought back Family Guy several years ago, everyone said that it was a once in a lifetime thing -- that canceled series stay canceled and cannot be revived," 20th Century Fox TV Chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden said in a joint statement. "But Futurama was another series that fans simply demanded we bring back, and we couldn’t have been happier when Matt and David agreed that there were many more stories yet to tell."

Adds Groening: "We’re thrilled Futurama is coming back. We now have only 25,766 episodes to make before we catch up with Bender and Fry in the year 3000."

Dammer, did you just pee your pants?

I Can't Drive 55

I had another run-in with authority today. Stupid speeding ticket on my way home, 73 in a 55, at least the guy knocked it down to a 65 so it doesn't go on my record. So that makes three in the last year, two in MN one in Iowa. Add that to the one I got on our way to Rochester to watch the third Blade movie, as well as to the one I got at 3:00 in the morning on my way to a Best Buy so I could sit outside in line and wait for a 360. So, right now I'm sitting at 5 speeding tickets and one stop sign violation. I'm curious, what's everyone else's driving history?

Saint Paul Clan Members Build a Fire Pit

Last Monday I had a comp day for working on Easter and coincidentally SB had the day off as well so we decided to start working on the fire pit that we had discussed. He came downstairs with some printed directions and we set off to Menards. We got 100 bricks, 200 pounds of gravel, along with a couple tools and brick adhesive. We came back and Josey was super excited to dig a hole so he started on that immediately. He even suggested that digging a hole is a great way to exercise and that a fun activity would be for two groups of guys to go out to the country for a hole-digging contest. I agreed, as you must with Josey's ideas. Digging went pretty quickly as SB and Josey took turns, I pitched in for a short time at the end, and then SB needed to go back to Menards for more gravel. Josey and I started laying a few layers of bricks, being careful to keep them perfectly level, see photo below. It was very scientific work actually. Eventually we found we needed 8 more bricks to finish the top layer so we made another Menards run, it was SB's fourth of the day. It is currently one layer higher than in the photo. We have further plans to add a patio around it as well as capstones to make the visible portion look nicer. For now it's a fully functioning fire pit and we're looking forward to hosting any clan members to a bigass bonfire.

21 Day Until Brokeback Big Guy

For my first post on this blog, I thought I would come out with some information that is important to at least a couple members of this blog. There was a headline today on the website of the Wall Street Journal that was entitled: "Iowa Court Says Gay Marriage Ban Is Unconstitutional"

A brief summary of the article states:

"The Iowa Supreme Court says the state's same-sex marriage ban violates the constitutional rights of gay and lesbian couples, making it the third state where gay marriage is
legal.

In a unanimous ruling issued Friday, the court upheld a 2007 Polk County District Court judge's ruling that the law was unconstitutional."

This ruling will take effect after a 21 day period. So, will there be an SB and Josey marriage in three weeks? According to a video discovered by one of the KofC's bloggers (Unky Eternal), there is significant evidence for this marriage. Only time will tell on this matter.

Halo Wars Strategies/Ideas

Most of this is obvious for us, but I just want to make sure for my own sake.

Build Order:
Obviously this is one of the most important aspects of the game especially at the beginning, and for any rushes. I normally do supply pad -> reactor -> barracks (for ODST strat). But I noticed some people build a reactor first. I don't think it really makes a difference but I am not 100% sure.

Troop Movements:
One thing I have trouble with is selecting groups of enemies. I often select all units and attack, but what happens is often my ODSTs get stuck in the back and can't be effective. It's a good idea to use smaller groups and set them up in an arc around what ever you are attacking.

Elephant Idea:
I haven't done this, but even though I can drop ODSTs I still find I have tens of troops trekking across the map. I am thinking if I set up an Elephant just outside their view and keep bringing in a flood of troops. What do you think? Is it worth it?

Explore:
I think the best feeling in the game is when you send out warthogs right away to explore for crates and to see what your opponent is building, and the other guy just has his hog sitting outside. It gives you a pretty damn good idea that they are going to suck. And when you can take their crates it gives you a big leg up.

Halo Wars: Strategy?

So, puyo and SB and I played last night from about midnight to 6am. We won 11 and lost 2. Anyone else get the game?

I don't know if we should all do warthog rushes. I think 2 people should, and then 1 builds ground units or hornets. Thoughts?

Breaking Down Fugg First's Stats

Even though no one knows his name, (FuggFirst, FuggFrist, MCHolla etc.) and he never posts and presumably never reads the blog. He is still apart of the Clan... a clan that is falling apart, but a clan no less. If you don't know FF is currently playing the game of American Basketball at a small Division III liberal arts school somewhere in the midwest. I think everyone (except for Adeclipse) has an idea of what that is like.

Well anyway, let's have a look at FF's numbers this season.

General:
20 Games
18 Games Started
Averaging 20.7 min per game.

Shooting:
31 FG/67 FGA
46.3 FG% (Highest of the team that has played more than 20 min total)
FF is the third lowest player for shot attempts, and since FF is the best shooter on the team, this is discouraging.

4.2 PPG. Like I said KofC thinks you should shoot more. While getting a lot of assists is good (see "Misc." below, let's be a little more selfish. Okay?)

Behind the Arc:
7 3FG/23 3FGA
30.5 3FG%
Surprisingly, FF is the second worst 3 point shooter on the team (besides the 0 for 1 big men) yet 30% is very respectable.

Free Throws:
15 FT/27 FTA
55.6% Free throw shooter.
Wow, come on FF that has to be better if you want to make the draft. While still considerably better than my 11% free throw percentage in 7th grade, I think someone needs to hit the gym.

Misc.
2.1 Rebs a game. Pretty solid.
55 Assists... wow. FF more than doubles the teams average assists per person (excluding bench scrubs)
29 Turn overs
19 Steals.
1 Block Shot. (Would like to have seen that)

Okay, so you need to shoot more, work on your free throws and imrpove the Steal to Turnover ratio.

As a team you are basically getting beat in every statistic except assists and deadball rebounds. It's a good start.

Weekend Recap

Hello KofC,

It's been a real long time since I actually posted a regular post. I would say arguably my last "real" post was December 5th. Those were the good old days. Christmas was still coming up and it wasn't -30 degrees.

Pablito and SB should be at the airport right now waiting for their flight. And I am at work, like a sucker. Feeling pretty sick.

As many of you know Pablito and SB came for the weekend on Saturday afternoon. I picked them up at the airport after a short delay and we went and got pizza at Pete's Pizza.

With both SB and myself feeling pretty sick, we sucked it up and joined some people on a Bar Golf tour. For those of you not familiar with Bar Golf, there are 9 bars on a pub/bar tour. Each one represents a hole and each one has a par. A par 4 is one drink/beer, par 5 is two drinks/beers. You can get birdies, eagles and hole-in-ones by drinking more drinks, shots, drop shots/bombs or combinations of all of them. We joined the group on the third hole, but quickly made up ground and arguably we could have made a case for the win or at least a sudden death playoff.

Amongst a lot of people dressed in golf apparel, we had a good time. One lady came over to us and asked what three good looking dudes were doing talking to each other and not her and her two friends. We politely played along as we might mosey our way over there, but then quickly walked the other way as she went back to report the news to her lonely friends. While the third female was obstructed from view, the two we could see (including the ballsy one who talked to us), were not quite up to our impossibly high standards. The ballsy one I referred too might have actually had balls. Her Adams apple was quite pronounced.

We found a couple new friends and convinced them to play credit card roulette for the next round of hole-in-one inducing irish car bombs. Luckily, each new member of our group got stuck with the bill. No funny business was used, third parties held the cards and the new members got to choose. Sometimes the drinking gods smile down on you.

We ended our night hailing a cab back to my place while a drunk homophob tried to fight us. Good times. We played castle crashers and braid for a while. Which btw, I recommend braid to all KofC members.

The next day we went to a breakfast place called Flat Top. Ate some food, and then played soccer. It was the playoffs and the two ringers I brought in couldn't do shit. Partially due to hangovers? Maybe. But either way my dreams of my soccer team finally winning a game was shattered.

Hungover and sick, we watched football and shawshank redemption for the rest of the night.

Yesterday we went to Notorious. Pablito and I liked it. SB thought it was boring. We then went to ESPN zone for dinner, and then quickly dropped about 60 bucks at the arcade. All throwing out our arms and schooling young children in hockey. After that we went to Lucky Strike, where we played pool and bowled.

Pablito won a very close bowling competition that netted him an extra 40 dollars on the night.

We came back and harassed people on PlayStation Home for a while. The non-workers (SB and Pablito) polished off the night with a boot each.

Some take aways from the weekend:
- Drinking slows down a recovery from sickness.
- Pablito is unstoppable at credit card roulette. (0 losses/6 games)
- SB is pretty good at credit card roulette. (1 loss/6 games)
- I am down right terrible at cc roulette (3 losses/6 games)
- PlayStation Home is fun for only one thing. Cock blocking 43 yr old UPS mechanic pedophiles.
- Obama is now the president of the United States. No matter how you feel about that, you have to admit the car trailing his new limo is down right awesome.

I'll be in MN, not this weekend, but next weekend. Anyone have any plans on Friday the 30th?

Sunday Afternoon Time-wasting

Man it's been a while, I almost forgot about how much fun it can be to post. In any case, I'm wondering how everyone's Christmas/New Years was. Mine was pretty dang good, hectic but good. I went to DanaWillEatU's Mom's in Sauk Centre for Christmas, back to Owatonna to work on that Friday, to my parent's place in Iowa for the weekend, back up to DanaWillEatU's mom's on Sunday, back to Owatonna on Monday, work for two days, up to DanaWillEatU's sister's house in Hutchinson Wednesday night for New Years, back to Owatonna Friday morning. Needless to say I'm tired of riding/driving.

I don't have an engagement to announce following the holidays, but it's been crossing the mind quite frequently now. One perk of that day coming is that I won't have all of DanaWillEatU's family checking her ring finger every time we come visit.

My New Years report is far less glamourous than last year (at least I didn't get kicked out of a club), although it was quite fun. I mixed Crown and Coke all night with DanaWillEatU's brother-in-laws and watched Superbad and Eagle Eye. We all probably know how entertaining Superbad is, but I'm curious as to whether any of you know how entertaining Eagle Eye is. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being not entertaining and 10 being Iowa beating up on South Carolina in the Outback Bowl, this rated a 3.2 for me. I think I've gotten more enjoyment out of a Patrick Dempsey chick flick than I did out of Eagle Eye.

Holy cow, the TV just told me that the Baltimore Ravens' Ed Reed has 5 career interceptions in 3 post-season games, that's pretty damn good. Too bad the game isn't all that entertaining and I've been watching Smokey and the Bandit for much of it instead. I never would have guessed that transporting Coors east of Texas back in 1977 would be considered bootlegging. Here are some other online tidbits I've come across as of late:

- Nothing worse than an out of control beaver

- A mildly intense video

- As if we didn't already know

- A buddy at bowling showed this service from Google to me a couple weeks ago, I've already used it when I was lost trying to find DanaWillEatU and I's hotel

I'm going to make another attempt at coming up to the cities for a weekend, potentially the 24th. Go Vikings!
